Food Vendor Information

  1. Set-up may begin as early as 9:00 AM on Wednesday, July 3.  Early arrival can be arranged by contacting Nate Butler, 785-307-8160.  Vendors are asked to be open for business no later than 4:30 PM on July 3, 2024.   Vendors should be open for business no later than 11:00 AM on July 4, 2:30 PM on July 5, and 11:00 AM on July 6 -7, 2024.  Vendors are required to remain open each day until the break before the last band of the evening.
  2. You may drive your vehicle into the park using the entrance at 5th and Jefferson Streets.  Vehicles will need to be unloaded and removed from the park prior to setting up.  Vehicles may be parked on Jefferson Street or 5th Street, north of Jefferson.
  3. Booths must be within the space allowed and as directed by the Event Manager.
  4. Each vendor should maintain their sales area in a neat, clean, and orderly condition. All products offered for sale should be displayed in a neat, clean and attractive manner.
  5. Each vendor is responsible for their own property and any damage or injury their property may cause at Freedom Fest.
  6. Cost for a booth in the food court area is $500.  Fee must be paid in full prior to setting up.
  7. Booth fees may be paid by cash, check, or through the website by debit or credit.  Checks are made payable to Freedom Fest JC with “Food Vendor Fee” in the memo.
  8. Department of Revenue and Sales Tax Collection
    a. Vendors applying for space at Freedom Fest must have a Kansas State Sales Tax number prior to participating as a vendor.
    b. The collection and submission of sales tax is the responsibility of each vendor selling products in the event and Freedom Fest is not responsible for any vendor’s failure to collect and submit sales to the Kansas Department of Revenue.

Vendors are required to:

  1. Pre-register for Freedom Fest.
  2. Vendors are expected to be good ambassadors for the event. Use of tobacco, vaping, profane language, drugs, and alcohol consumption are not allowed. Socially acceptable behavior is expected. Selling techniques should be in good taste. Distracting or deterring customers from approaching another vendor’s stall is discouraged.
  3. Remain at the event until closing time to avoid safety hazards for customers and vendors. Exceptions will be kept to a minimum, should be discussed with and approved by the Event Manager, and will be assigned a space by the event manager to ensure safety in the event area.
  4. Bring trailer, tables, and other equipment you will need.
  5. Electricity is provided.  All cords must be placed to avoid trip hazards.  If the cord is across the sidewalk, it must be taped down by the vendor (vendor must provide their own tape).
  6. If water is required, vendors must supply their own approved water hoses.
  7. It is the policy of Freedom Fest JC, that all soft drinks, water, Gatorade, and ice be purchased through Freedom Fest JC.  Request forms will be at the headquarters tent and should be completed daily.  Freedom Fest workers will deliver ice and drinks to your area on a daily basis, as requested.
  8. Clean up their space and take any trash throughout the event and upon departure.
  9. Set their own food prices but are strongly encouraged to remain competitive with other vendors.  Drink prices must be the same throughout the event/park and are established by Event Management.
  10. Comply with KS Department of Agriculture Farmers Market Regulations and Food Safety Best Practices MF3138 Foods Sold Direct to Consumers in Kansas: Regulations and Food Safety Best Practices (ksu.edu) and Geary County Health Department public health directives.
  11. Use hand sanitizer, gloves, and/or handwashing stations before and frequently during the event.
  12. Communicate any questions, concerns, or constructive ideas to the Event Manager.
  13. The City of Junction City will provide police officers in the park at night to provide security.  No cars will be allowed into the park area prior to the end of the fireworks on July 4.
